The US Forrest Serv has finally come up with their proposals for fixing the Mountaintown Trail access issue in Ellijay Ga., This is one of the oldest trails in north Ga and the hikers and a group called Forrest Watch have tried to shut this trail down to bicycles by cutting off the exit from this trail by making a .6mi section of the Pinhote trail (99.4mi of 100mi is bike/hike) to Bear Creek trail hiker only. The Forrest Serv wants to fix this issue and came up with alternatives, The Ellijay MTB Assoc. supports Alt. #2 Which is change the .6 mi portion of the Pinhote to include bicycles like the other 99.4mi of it. Please send a simple nice & short e-mail to lrthomas@fs.fed.us Larry Thomas with Forrest Serv showing your support for Alt #2 so this can be resolved and the trail made whole again. If you have time check out his attachment below explaining all of this if you want. Please forward to any and all MTB'ers and post on any forums if you want, they need numbers to push this through.
                                                                Thanks, Todd
